2020 Homestudy CE: Assessing the Risk: Understanding and Organizing Your Approach to Hazardous Drug Handling (Patient Safety CE)

Requirements for CE Credit

To obtain CE credit for this activity, participants must watch the entire video of the webinar activity and complete the learning assessment post-test and the program evaluation. You will have two (2) opportunities to successully complete the post-test, and credit will be awarded for a minimum passing grade of 60%. Participants will receive CE credit within 60 days of completing the post-test and evaluation.  All CE credit will be administered through CPE Monitor. NABP e-profile ID and date-of-birth entry are mandatory for each participant.

Step 2:  Click on "Take the Test" to complete the post-test and evaluation.
Please Note: A handout is provided. Please print it out and follow along with the audio recording. The learning assessment questions are also available and included with the handout.


  • Descrbe the risks of working with hazardous drugs in the pharmacy and healthcare continuum
  • Outline critical strategies required to minimize occupational HD exposures in the pharmacy
  • Discuss how to process and document an HD assessment of risk within the context of the regulatory framework and standards of practice including OSHA, NIOSH and USP <800>
  • Identify the appropriate personal protective equipment based on HD medication and activity
